Psalm: 126. 1. When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. 2. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them. 3. The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. 4. Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south. 5. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. Psalm: 127. 1. Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. 2. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. 3. Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. 4. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. 5. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate. Psalm: 128. 1. Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. 2. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. 3. Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table. 4. Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD. 5. The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life. 6. Yea, thou shalt see thy children’s children, and peace upon Israel. Psalm: 129. 1. Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say: 2. Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me. 3. The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows. 4. The LORD is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked. 5. Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion. 6. Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up: 7. Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom. 8. Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the LORD be upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD. Psalm: 130. 1. Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD. 2. Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. 3. If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? 4. But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. 5. I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. 6. My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning. 7. Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. 8. And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

Proverbs: 26. 1. As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool. 2. As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come. 3. A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool’s back. 4. Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. 5. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit. 6. He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage. 7. The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools. 8. As he that bindeth a stone in a sling, so is he that giveth honour to a fool. 9. As a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouth of fools. 10. The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors. 11. As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly. 12. Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him. 13. The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets. 14. As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed. 15. The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth. 16. The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason. 17. He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears. 18. As a mad man who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death, 19. So is the man that deceiveth his neighbour, and saith, Am not I in sport? 20. Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth. 21. As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife. 22. The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. 23. Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross. 24. He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him; 25. When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart. 26. Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation. 27. Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him. 28. A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.
